1、英国的国旗叫Union Flag，诞生于1801年，当时爱尔兰与大不列颠联合组成王国，国旗由原英格兰白底红色正十字旗、苏格兰蓝底白色交叉十字旗和爱尔兰白底红色交叉十字旗合一而成。现在的国旗由深蓝底色和红白“米”字组成。旗的正中是带白边的红色正十字，代表英格兰守护神圣乔治(St George)；白色交叉十字代表苏格兰守护神圣安德鲁(St Andrew)；红色交叉十字代表爱尔兰守护神圣帕特里克(St Patrick)。
2、美国的国旗为星条旗(the Star-Spangled Banner)，于1777年6月14 日在大陆会议上通过决议而采用。当时的国旗上有13道条纹和13颗星，代表当时英国在北美的13个殖民地。1818年美国国会通过了一项法案，决定每成立一个新州增加一颗星。现在美国国旗的旗底由13条红白相间的宽条构成，其中红色的7条，白色的6条，旗的左上角有一块蓝色长方形，上面分9排横列着50颗白色的小五角星，分别代表美国现在的50个州。
3、Flag Day指美国的“国旗制定纪念日”，时间是每年的6月14日。
